Passive: Echo Strike
Causes melee attacks to attack twice in quick succession. The double attacks apply a 100% movement slow for 0.8 seconds on the first strike.
Additional Insights
- Doesn't work for Range heroes
- What's even cooler is that this swift double hit also slows down your enemy for a brief moment, making it harder for them to fight back or run away.
Statistics
The statistics below shows the percentage of hero builds which contain Echo Sabre as a core, common or situational item for each role. These statistics are based on our hero guides.
Itemization Strategy

Trivia
The design and concept of the Echo Sabre were partially inspired by the item 'Echo Sabre' from the game 'Heroes of Newerth' (HoN), which itself drew influence from Dota. When Dota 2 developers were creating and implementing new items into the game, they sometimes took inspiration from various mechanics and concepts found in other similar games, including HoN. The Echo Sabre in Dota 2, with its double attack effect and slow, bears a resemblance to the Echo Sabre item in HoN.
