Initially, the Shadow Amulet was a key component in crafting the Shadow Blade (formerly known as Lothar's Edge). However, as Dota evolved, the Shadow Blade's recipe was altered, and the Shadow Amulet became an individual and standalone item with its unique ability to grant temporary invisibility to the wielder.
