Steps in and out of the mortal plane to strike his foes
Privy to secrets that would shatter a mortal mind, the Void Spirit emerges from his Hidden Temple to stand guard over multiple areas of the battlefield at once. Able to step into and out of the mortal plane at will, he easily outmaneuvers opponents to strike from wherever he desires, calling upon the powers of the aether to shield him in times of need.

Strategy
Use Resonant Pulse to secure creeps, especially the ranged creep and harass opponents at the same time. Try to follow up with some right clicks on the enemy hero afterwards.
On tough lanes put more points in Dissimilate to be able push out waves and clear camps faster.
Look to play actively, especially with good runes as Void Spirit has huge burst potential with the low cooldown spells.
Void Spirit is great at killing supports and backliners in teamfights. Focus on those first.
When not much is happening, push out the side lanes.
Aghanim's Scepter is a game changer as it adds another utility in the form of silence on Resonant Pulse.
Once you have Aghanim's Scepter, look to play aggressively as you can solo kill pretty much any hero on the map.
Counter Strategy
Control power runes against Void Spirit. He likes to bottle them and gank.
Instant disables and silences are great against the elusive Void Spirit.
Magic resistance and spell immunity items are great against Void Spirit.
Be aware of Void Spirit's Aghanim's Scepter timing as he gets AoE silence of 4s.
Lore
Not even the other spirits claim to understand the mind and machinations of the eldest amongst them, Inai the Void Spirit. Privy to secrets that would shatter a mortal mind, the Void Spirit observes the workings of the universe from an unknowable vantage, choosing to let carefully groomed servants do his bidding -- only emerging from his Hidden Temple into the material plane when he deems that he alone can steer the course of reality along its proper path.
With an expansive perspective on existence, Inai is focused intently on a point in time beyond which he cannot see, when the fabrics of multiple realities are fated to collide. Now he steps from the aether to personally resolve the battle of the Ancients and prepare his allies for what he views as a greater conflict to come.
