Crystal Maiden stats, abilities and strategy [7.41a]

Try to hit both opponents with Crystal Nova and potentially secure the range creep at the same time.

With the Glacial Guard facet, you should target your Crystal Nova in such a way to hit both the enemy hero and yourself or an ally while trading to damage them while gaining a massive physical damage barrier.

Consider skilling Frostbite on level 2 for a kill attempt with your mana regen consumables.

Frostbite does more damage to creeps. Use it to farm big neutral creeps or enemy summons.

Crystal Nova gives vision, so you can use it to scout high ground for wards. A good dewarding tip is to avoid placing your {sentry-ward} directly on the high ground or ward spot. Instead, place your {sentry-ward} so that it covers the area, then use Crystal Nova to gain vision and deward safely.

Avoid showing yourself at the start of the fight. Keep distance and spam Crystal Nova, Frostbite, and use items.

Don't rush with using Freezing Field in fights unless you can support it with {glimmer-cape}.

Use portals to roam around the map and set up kills with your control spells.

Remember to use {boots-of-bearing} to gain movement speed during Freezing Field with {aghanims-scepter}.

Get {aghanims-shard} at the 15 minute mark as it gives you more mobility, lockdown and wave clear.

Try to predict which heroes you'll be laning against. If your laning partner pairs well with your hero, you can play aggressively and go for kills. But if your core can't follow up on your spells, it's better to play safe and avoid feeding

Check the minimap, and if no enemies are nearby, go steal the Wisdom Rune. It gives a solid XP boost and can slow down the enemy’s level progression. Make sure you have an escape plan in case someone shows up

Buy {null-talisman} as your first item if you get first blood or kills at the bounty rune - it will help you spam more spells.

You can use Crystal Nova on your shard Crystal Clone to make it explode and freeze all enemies around it. You can time this with Frostbite to chain lock enemy heroes.

Crystal Maiden counters heroes that don't like to be rooted such as {ember-spirit}, {void-spirit} and {storm-spirit}. Note that Frostbite is long-lasting and has a short cooldown.

Crystal Maiden is a vulnerable hero and one of the easiest to kill during the laning phase

Play on different sides of the lane with your laning partner against Crystal Maiden such that you don't get hit both by Crystal Nova

Use moments when Crystal Maiden is away from her laning partner to land a kill on her, for example when she's pulling. Keeping her on low levels means that her team won't have high levels of Arcane Aura

Look to interrupt Freezing Field in fights. Crystal Maiden will try to protect herself with {glimmer-cape} or {black-king-bar}

Crystal Maiden's level 20 attack speed talent is good against specific heroes or abilities such as Supernova, Tombstone and Will-o-Wisp

Crystal Maiden can also steal your stacks with her ultimate, most mid heroes carries or offlaners like to farm triangle/ancients stacks i.e {templar-assassin}, {tinker}, {medusa}, {beastmaster}, {sand-king}, {bristleback} etc.

Carry {dust-of-appearance} or detection if you see {glimmer-cape} in Crystal Maiden's inventory
