Drow Ranger stats, abilities and strategy
Slows with her frost-tipped arrows
Not many can escape Drow Ranger once she's within range. After her foes have been silenced with a chilling blast, she finishes them off with a barrage of slowing, ice-tipped arrows that few can survive.

Strategy
Use Frost Arrows frequently to harass as you don't pull creep aggro when manually casting it. Also, you can use it to secure lasthits with extra damage.
Be careful of allowing the enemies to get too close during laning stage. You are especially vulnerable when your support is pulling the lane. Keep a safe distance and learn to kite heroes down.
Multishot does the most damage when used point blank as all the arrows will hit the target. Try to cover maximal area of your targets when using the spell in the cast zone.
When in trouble, you can potentially Gust and teleport out. Gust will silence and push the enemies back, allowing you time to escape.
Drow loves agility stat as it gets further increased by her passive, Precision Aura. Look to spam Agility items to boost her damage and attack speed output.
Drow is all about positioning. Avoid showing yourself too early in the fight and maintain distance. Let your teammates be the frontliners instead.
Use Multishot to push waves while staying hidden in trees to avoid getting caught out when killing lane creeps. This is the only way she can clear waves without showing herself.
When you get your Aghanim's Scepter online, your single target damage increases dramatically. Your Multishot is also able to farm a lot faster.
Counter Strategy
Drow Ranger is slow and has low armor. Look to harass her as much as you can on early levels.
Avoid being in point target range of Drow Ranger when she starts channeling Multishot
Drow Ranger's Gust and Multishot have cone shaped area of effect. If you are on top of her look to side step or run past or through her when she uses those spells
Gap closing items are good against Drow Ranger as she is a glass cannon hero. Note that her Marksmanship is disabled when you are within 400 range of her
Halberd's ability is amazing against Drow Ranger as it disarms her for 5 seconds. Keep in mind that Marksmanship procs pierce through evasion (true strike)
Drow Ranger should be a priority target in team fights as her team loses the Precision Aura when she dies.
Use Smoke, to wrap around Drow Ranger and kill her.
Lore
Drow Ranger's given name is Traxex--a name well suited to the short, trollish, rather repulsive Drow people. But Traxex herself is not a Drow. Her parents were travelers in a caravan set upon by bandits, whose noisy slaughter of innocents roused the ire of the quiet Drow people.
After the battle settled, the Drow discovered a small girl-child hiding in the ruined wagons, and agreed she could not be abandoned. Even as child, Traxex showed herself naturally adept at the arts they prized: Stealth, silence, subtlety. In spirit, if not in physique, she might have been a Drow changeling, returned to her proper home. But as she grew, she towered above her family and came to think of herself as ugly. After all, her features were smooth and symmetrical, entirely devoid of warts and coarse whiskers.
Estranged from her adopted tribe, she withdrew to live alone in the woods. Lost travelers who find their way from the forest sometimes speak of an impossibly beautiful Ranger who peered at them from deep among the trees, then vanished like a dream before they could approach. Lithe and stealthy, icy hot, she moves like mist in silence. That whispering you hear is her frozen arrows finding an enemy's heart.
