Strategy
You should use Split Earth or Lightning Storm to secure ranged creeps during the laning stage. Remember to time it with right clicks if necessary.
Use Split Earth when opponents are likely to be stationary, e.g. when they are going for lasthit or deny. Also, use it immediately after Lightning Storm to increase chances of landing the stun.
Split Earth breaks trees which can be useful against certain heroes.
Diabolic Edict pulses give you a hint of where the opponents' invisible hero is.
Alert your teammates to stack for you as you can clear stacks as soon as you hit level 6.
Leshrac is really good at taking buildings early on due to wave clear and Diabolic Edict. Look for objectives when your teammates are grouping up to push early on.
You can damage a building with Diabolic Edict by hiding yourself in trees next to it. However, consider the risks vs rewards whenever attempting this based on map awareness.
Itemize for survivability and mobility to be able to position yourself in the center of the fight. Think about items such as Eul's Scepter and Black King Bar.
Leshrac is great at splitpushing due to mobility, wave clear and tower damage.
When opponents get Black King Bars, you typically need to kite those and itemize to survive their duration.
Pick up Aghanims Shard if you need to defend high ground or siege.
Counter Strategy

Magic resistance and spell immunity items are great against Leshrac.
Leshrac is great at split-pushing and ratting. Consider getting Boots of Travel on a core.
Lore
Leshrac, Tormented Soul, is an entity torn from the heart of nature, a liminal being that exists half in one plane of existence, half in another. His penetrating intelligence is such that he can never ignore for a moment the agonizing horror at the heart of all creation. Once a great philosopher who sought the meaning of existence, he plumbed the depths of nature with the haunted Chronoptic Crystals, and was forever altered by the hideous mysteries thereby revealed to him. Now the darkest depths of his enlightenment are illumined only by the fitful glare of his arrogance. Like other elemental characters, he is completely at one with nature, but in his case it is a nature lurid and vile. He alone sees the evil truth of reality, and has no use for those who believe the cosmos reserves a special reward for those who practice benevolence.
