Strategy
Use Whirling Axes to secure ranged creep last hits and harass the opponents at the same time.
Avoid switching targets in engagements as you'll lose Fervor stacks.
Avoid popping Battle Trance too early in fights as you might get kited. Use it later, either on a disabled enemy or defensively.
You can take 
Roshan early on even by yourself. Use Battle Trance if necessary to heal up.
Consider purchasing anti-kiting items so you can stick to the target and not waste Battle Trance.
Consider {aghanims-scepter} in the mid-late game phase if there are any dispels you might need on yourself or the enemies.
You can take down Tormentor on your own with Battle Trance to secure an {aghanims-shard} for your team.
Counter Strategy
Troll Warlord is a strong laner. Buy extra healing items and take good trades.
Avoid Troll Warlord when Battle Trance is on. Don't allow him to heal by hitting you.
Battle Trance applies basic dispel on Troll Warlord. Use dispellable spells and items afterwards.
Item's like {euls-scepter-of-divinity} and {ghost-scepter} are really good at kiting Troll Warlord and Battle Trance.
Troll Warlord takes down buildings fast with Fervor. Organize defense quickly.
Items that provide accuracy, such as {monkey-king-bar}, are good against Troll Warlord's melee Whirling Axes.
Troll Warlord is able to take
Roshan early on. {observer-ward} and check Roshan.
{aghanims-scepter} makes Troll Warlord's ranged Whirling Axes apply basic dispel on enemies and the melee Whirling Axes let him dispel himself.
