Shivas guard is a well balanced item that is received by the community as a both offensive and defensive item usually bought by offlaners and cores who love to initiate this item is perfect in the mid to late game. Centaur, Primal Beast and Doom makes it a wonderful patch for them

Shiva's Guard is based on a character from the Warcraft universe named Jaina Proudmoore, a powerful sorceress. In Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, she had a powerful ability called 'Blizzard', which caused a freezing storm to deal damage and slow enemy units within its radius, a mechanic that resembles Shiva's Guard's Arctic Blast ability.
