Primal Roar is amazing set up for Ice Blast giving Beastmaster enough kill threat to roam the map by himself and get pickoffs. Ice Vortex amplifies the damage of both Wild Axes as well as Drums of Slom and even Primal Roar for that extra bit of burst.
Primal Roar is amazing set up for Sun Strike giving Beastmaster enough kill threat to roam the map by himself and get pickoffs. His kit is tailored to do a high number of damage instances with Drums of Slom, Wild Axes, Call of the Wild Boar and Call of the Wild Hawk making Coldsnap procs easy to trigger.
Beastmaster's strong early game compensates for Spectre's weak one, being able to apply pressure and control the map, while she ramps. Primal Roar can set up Shadow Step giving Beastmaster enough kill threat to roam the map by himself and get pickoffs, while allowing Spectre to contribute from anywhere on the map effectively, without sacrificing too much farming time.
Primal Roar is amazing set up for Teleportation giving Nature's Prophet time to follow up and provide Beastmaster with enough kill threat to roam the map by himself and get pickoffs. The long duration of Primal Roar gives time for Wrath of Nature to ramp up in damage and connect to the target for it's maximum.
Primal Roar is amazing set up for Mystic Flare making Beastmaster and Skywrath a deadly duo. Ancient Seal amplifies the damage of Wild Axes, Drums of Slom and even Primal Roar, while Concussive Shot provides vision of it's target making it a great set-up for Primal Roar for nay targets trying to juke in the Fog of War.
Primal Roar ensures enemies stay in place for full spell damage, while Beastmaster’s push complements SF’s tempo.Beastmaster buys aura items which help sf dish out more damage during fights.
Chen adds more summons to the zoo, overwhelming towers. His global heal sustains Beastmaster’s army, and he often gets Holy Persuasion creeps that provide aura synergy (e.g., Alpha Wolf, Ogre Frostmage).
Together they form the strongest early push duo. Beastmaster provides control with Roar, and Lycan’s Shapeshift closes the gap. Their armies tear down buildings before most teams can respond.
CM's Arcane Aura sustains Beastmaster’s mana-hungry kit. Her AoE slow complements Boars, and Freezing Field zones out enemies trapped by Roar, letting the zoo do full damage uninterrupted.
KOTL clears waves so Beastmaster can focus on pushing other lanes. Recall allows global map pressure with Hawk vision, and Chakra Magic reduces cooldowns on Axes and Roar.
...core items [7.39c]
A core item that improves your damage and sustain in fights. Look to get aggressive as soon as you have it by looking for pickoffs, pushing towers, and taking
Roshan. Especially good versus illusion-based heroes.
A core mobility item to cast Primal Roar on a desired target and jump supports that often stay in the back.
A core item to avoid most disables and silences on the enemy team to use Primal Roar on a specific enemy hero and follow up with right clicks to burst them down. Also improves your right click damage and tankiness through HP pool and magic resistance.
A core item that improves lockdown around your hero with more Hawks.
A core item that gives you tankiness with armor and reduces healing in an AoE around you. Works well against illusions and summons along with your AoE damage spells. Also increases your damage output with Wild Axes.
A late game pick up primarily for a second Primal Roar in teamfights and possibly delete two enemy heroes with a long lasting stun.

Juxtapose allows Phantom Lancer to generate a far greater number of Illusions compared to the other Illusion heroes - this large number of targets for Drums of Slom to affect in combination with a Crimson Guard usually results in Beastmaster outhealing PL's damage altogether. Wild Axes deal scaling Magic Damage on a low cooldown, which provides considarable AOE damage to help clear PL's Illusions.
Beastmater's fast-paced and push-oriented gameplay, when paired against Spectre's weak early game, can easily result in Spectre and her team being set back so much that a comeback is highly improbable. She simply lacks the tools to deal with heavy early aggression. In lane, he can easily pressure her with his Wild Axes as well as Call of the Wild Boar and Call of the Wild Hawk for which Spectre lacks AOE clear.
Mirror Image gives Drums of Slom multiple targets to affect and when combined with Crimson Guard usually results in Naga struggling to output enough damage to kill Beastmaster. Wild Axes deal scaling Magic Damage on a low cooldown, which provides considarable AOE damage to help clear Naga's Illusions despite their naturally high armor..
Divided We Stand gives Drums of Slom multiple targets to affect and when combined with Crimson Guard usually results in Meepo struggling to output enough damage to kill Beastmaster. Wild Axes deal scaling Magic Damage on a low cooldown, which provides considarable AOE damage to help damage all of Meepos clones and Primal Roar is vital for isolating a single Meepo and focusing it down..
Meat Hook is Pudge's signature and arguably most impactful ability. Call of the Boar makes it hard for Pudge to land a Meat Hook on Beastmaster or any of his allies, while Call of the Wild summons hovering in a circle around Beastmaster hawks, making it a complete Hail Marry play whether the Meat Hook would connect or not. Primal Roar interrupts Dismember.
Beastmaster excels against spider-based swarm heroes. His Boar slows Broodmother significantly, and Wild Axes plus Inner Beast help clear her spiders. Primal Roar locks her down even during her high-mobility escapes.
OD lacks wave clear and gets overrun by summons. Beastmaster applies constant pressure with his zoo army and punishes OD’s cooldowns with sustained siege. Primal Roar prevents OD from saving allies with Astral Imprisonment.
Clockwerk relies on isolation, but Beastmaster's summons and vision negate that. Primal Roar can counter-initiate and prevent Hookshot follow-ups. Beastmaster also pushes faster than Clockwerk can roam effectively.
Grimstroke is fragile and can't defend against zoo pushes. Beastmaster forces him to use spells defensively and easily dives him with Primal Roar. His units also prevent Grim’s combo plays with spacing
Void needs farm and suffers against Beastmaster’s early pressure. Boars slow him in lane, and Primal Roar locks him before or after Chronosphere. Beastmaster forces teamfights where Void can’t control space yet.

Mana Shield allows Medusa to survive Beastmaster's Primal Roar and to counter initiate with Stone Gaze. Split Shot, Mystic Snake and Gorgon's Grasp all affect multiple targets and are naturally effective at clearing Call of the Wild Boar and Call of the Wild Hawk summons. Primal Road triggers Cold Blooded making Medusa even more survivable.
Both Starbreaker and Celestial hammer are both effective at clearing Call of the Wild Boar and Call of the Wild Hawk summons due to their AOE property. More importantly Solar Guardian provides a global save, and counter initiation for Primal Roared ally anywhere on the map.
Sand King's kit is entirely AOE making it easy for him to clear Call of the Wild Boar and Call of the Wild Hawk. More importantly, Caustic Finale turns Beastmaster's summons against him as even a single Stinger can affect multiple summons that upon death nuke Beastmaster for massive damage.
Ember's kit is entirely AOE making it easy for him to clear Call of the Wild Boar and Call of the Wild Hawk. The multiple summons allow Ember to stay invulnerable for longer during Sleight of Fist. Flameguard provides him protection from Beastmaster's heavy Magic Damage and he can dodge a lot of damage from Wild Axes and Drums of Slom with Sleight of Fist and Fire Remnant.
Bristleback's heavy AOE kit makes it easy for him to clear Call of the Wild Boar and Call of the Wild Hawk with Quill Spray and Hairball. Beastmaster can take a lot of towers early and Bristleback can simply park his body infront of a tower and turn his Bristleback towards a pushing Beastmaster to delay or stop the push altogether.
Elder Titan’s Spirit clears the zoo with bonus damage, and Echo Stomp controls the entire army. His aura reduces armor and magic resistance, punishing Beastmaster’s summons and frontline presence heavily.
Gyro punishes summons with Flak Cannon and Call Down. He clears pushes fast and scales better in teamfights. Beastmaster can’t burst Gyro easily, and the longer the fight goes, the worse it becomes for Beastmaster.
Kunkka’s Torrent and Boat stall pushes and disrupt the zoo. Cleave from Tidebringer eliminates summons quickly. Kunkka also scales into a tanky frontliner that shrugs off Primal Roar and zone control.
Anchor Smash massively reduces damage from Beastmaster’s units. Kraken Shell removes Primal Roar, making it nearly useless. Beastmaster cannot push through Ravage and the teamfight dominance Tide brings.
Lina’s Dragon Slave and Light Strike Array instantly clear summons. Laguna Blade bursts Beastmaster if he overcommits. Her range and spell damage make it very hard for him to establish a siege safely.
