Vengeful and Underlord naturally make for a strong lane as they are Melee/Ranged and have powerful early game spells. Magic Missile is both a great set up and follow up for Pit of Malice in order to trigger a second root and Nether Swap can be used to swap targets into it. Both Atrophy Aura and Wave of Terror reduce attack damage, making it an absolute nightmare for most right-clickers, especially stats stacking ones, to output significant damage.
Venge increases Drow's damage with armor reduction and positioning. Swap removes threats from her frontline. Drow thrives when Venge creates space. Together they dominate lanes and scale quickly with right-click synergy.
Luna and Venge benefit from auras and team-based fighting. Swap puts enemies in range of Eclipse. Venge’s Wave of Terror reduces armor for glaives to shred teams. Their synergy excels in mid-game 5v5 fights.
Venge enhances TB’s illusion damage with armor debuff. She provides control while TB gets his hits off. Swap removes TB from danger during Sunder windows. They crush teamfights when played with timing coordination.
Wave of Terror lowers armor for TA’s burst damage. Venge’s stuns and Swap enable quick pickoffs. TA benefits from vision and positioning Venge provides. They dominate early-mid map control and Roshan timings.
Juggernaut gets repositioning help from Swap during Blade Fury or Omnislash. Venge can stun and debuff targets for Jugg to finish. Their combo makes laning stable and aggressive. Jugg benefits from Venge’s team-oriented toolkit.
Venge protects Medusa during Stone Gaze with Swap. Her aura amplifies Medusa’s effective tankiness. Enemies debuffed by Wave of Terror fall faster to Split Shot. They scale into powerful late-game pushers together.
Venge’s Wave and aura help Void’s Chronosphere damage. She can swap enemies into Chrono or save allies caught in it. They coordinate ultimates well for massive teamfight impact. Venge ensures Void can follow through on good Chronos.
Razor sticks on targets longer with Venge’s Swap. Her armor reduction makes his link and attacks hit harder. She enables his frontline presence and punishes disengage attempts. They dominate mid-game brawls together.
Venge sets up for Call Down with Magic Missile and Swap. Her aura and Wave of Terror boost Gyro’s AoE damage. He thrives in teamfights where she gives vision and control. Together they melt grouped enemies quickly.
...core items [7.39c]
A core
Boots of Speed upgrade to gain HP sustain and improve your movement speed to get into better positions and initiate fights or save allies with your spells.
An early to mid game item to buff one of your cores against physical damage while boosting their attack speed and mobility. Can also be cast on yourself to gain a physical damage barrier.
A core item to play fearlessly and set up kills on the map with your spells as you spawn an illusion on death that can still use all your spells to maintain your impact in teamfights. The illusion has separate cooldowns from your hero but cannot use items. Make sure to use the actives on your items before your hero dies.
An upgrade for
Tranquil Boots to improve your impact in teamfights with movement speed and attack speed auras. The Endurance active makes your team unslowable for a while to chase or run away from enemy heroes. Make sure to use a charge before dying as you cannot use it with the
Aghanim's Scepter illusion.
A core item that lets Magic Missile bounce and hit a second target. Massively improves your damage and control in teamfights. Has great synergy with all the Magic Missile talents.
A core mobility item to instantly close the gap on enemy heroes and lock them down with Magic Missile. Also lets you get in position to Nether Swap either an enemy or an ally and bring them to a desired spot.
A late game pick up that maintains your save potential and kill threat on the map more often by reducing the cooldown of all your spells and items. Also lowers the spell cooldowns on your
Aghanim's Scepter illusion.

Vengeful Spirit disrupts Legion’s Duels by swapping allies to safety. Her stun interrupts her initiation before Blink or BKB. Wave of Terror reduces LC’s durability. Legion struggles to reliably secure pickoffs through Vengeful’s interference.
Venge can jump on Ancient Apparition with Magic Missile and finish him before he casts Ice Blast. Her swap isolates him, making him a free kill. Ancient Apparition lacks mobility to avoid Venge’s aggressive positioning. Venge denies Ice Blast's impact with positioning.
Venge tanks Hoodwink's burst and cancels her ult with well-timed stuns. Her Wave of Terror reveals Hoodwink hiding in trees. Swap brings Hoodwink out of safety and into danger. Venge punishes Hoodwink’s squishy frame and fragile positioning.
Slardar gets kited by Venge’s swap and stun combination. She lowers his armor further with Wave of Terror. Venge can punish overextensions and protect backline from Slardar’s Blink-Crush. Her spells make Slardar’s physical approach less effective.
Venge lowers Sven’s armor significantly and kites him with Swap. She disables his BKB timing by saving her carries from Storm Hammer combos. Sven relies on jumping backline, which Venge can counter by repositioning allies safely. She delays his impact window.
Ursa depends on being close to deal damage, but Swap displaces him during Fury Swipes stacks. Stun interrupts his aggression and ruins Blink initiation. Wave of Terror weakens his already low armor. Venge protects cores and punishes his dive.
Venge ruins Huskar’s initiations by saving allies mid-jump. Her armor debuff and disable let her team kill Huskar before he can ramp up. Huskar’s BKB doesn’t protect him from Swap repositioning. Venge turns his aggressive style against him.
Shadow Fiend’s poor mobility is punished by Swap into stun. Venge bursts him before he channels Requiem. Her Wave of Terror breaks his armor. SF’s squishiness makes him an easy target if he mispositions once.
Clinkz struggles to deal with Venge’s armor reduction and control. She reveals him easily and disables him before he bursts. Swap removes priority targets from his firing line. Venge forces Clinkz to fight on unfavorable terms.
Disruptor’s Glimpse is rendered useless by Swap repositioning. Venge breaks Static Storm combos by saving allies instantly. Her mobility and control deny Disruptor setup. She effectively nullifies his impact without needing BKB.

Venge struggles to deal with PL’s illusions and has no AoE clear. Swap becomes ineffective when she can’t identify the real one. Her armor reduction barely affects his illusion damage. PL overwhelms Venge by dragging fights out.
Naga's illusions ignore armor reduction and punish Venge’s low AoE. Her Song of the Siren cancels Venge’s aggression and resets fights. Naga scales far better and pushes lanes too quickly. Venge can’t control the tempo late game.
Elder Titan removes base armor with Natural Order, making Venge and her illusions extremely vulnerable. His stun and stomp combo disable her before she casts. ET’s AoE zoning keeps her away from her ideal positioning. Venge becomes fragile in fights.
Brew’s Primal Split ruins Venge’s coordination and prevents focus fire. He can cyclone Venge or her carry during Swap attempts. Brew’s survivability means her armor reduction has less value. Venge can’t stop him once he splits.
Terrorblade shrugs off armor debuffs with high stats and illusions. Venge can’t disable him long enough to prevent Sunder. His illusions melt her with right clicks. Swap doesn’t remove his massive damage presence from the fight.
Sand King punishes grouped positioning and burst-kills Venge with Epicenter. Her low HP and low BKB priority make her vulnerable. Venge gets zoned out by Caustic Finale and Burrowstrike. Her tools can’t stop his AoE damage output.
CK’s illusions overwhelm Venge, and she lacks tools to deal with the chaos. Swap is ineffective when he pulls in a target and spawns illusions around them. Venge's low armor becomes a liability. CK benefits from extended messy engagements.
Beastmaster’s long-range disable pierces BKB and cancels Venge’s presence. His summons ignore her armor debuffs and help push. Roar stops Swap from saving anyone. Beastmaster takes map control quickly and snowballs harder.
Venge’s spells don’t affect Muerta during Pierce the Veil. Swap does nothing when she’s ethereal. Her range punishes Venge for poor positioning. Venge’s toolkit fails against Muerta’s unique mechanics and range.
AM jumps backlines and punishes Venge’s low mobility. She can’t disable him long enough to kill him. AM ignores her armor debuff and escapes before dying. Mana Break ruins her low mana pool, and she has no lockdown to stop him.
