Batrider's Flaming Lasso can drag an enemy hero into Techies' Proximity Mines, as well as set up for his devastating Sticky Bomb into Blast Off! combo on the locked down target to finish them off. Flamebreak can also push people into Proximity Mines. Reactive Tazer upgraded with Aghanim's Shard lets Techies cast the ability on Batrider to drag his Flaming Lasso target even further with the movement speed boost.
Magnus' Reverse Polarity locks down and clumps multiple enemy heroes to let Techies follow up with his Blast off! into triple Proximity Mines to burst down all of them at the same time. Skewer can drag multiple enemy heroes into Proximity Mines, and also lets Techies follow up with Blast Off! and Sticky Bomb when coordinated correctly.
Mars can trap multiple enemy heroes inside Arena of Blood, which lets Techies follow up with his devastating Blast Off! into triple Proximity Mines combo. Spear of Mars can push and lock down an enemy hero around Proximity Mines, and also lets Techies follow up with Blast Off! and Sticky Bomb when coordinated correctly.
Outworld Destroyer's Astral Imprisonment on an enemy hero sets up for Techies' devastating Blast Off! into triple Proximity Mines. Techies can also walk up and put down the Proximity Mines while the enemy hero is banished, which gives him more flexibility with Blast Off! usage. Outworld Destroyer also makes great use of the movement speed boost and disarm around him when targeted by Techies' Reactive Tazer once he gets Aghanim's Shard.
Pudge and Techies' kits complement each other greatly. Meat Hook can pull an enemy hero into Proximity Mines. Proximity mines reduce Magic Resistance, amplifying the damage of Rot and Dismember on the Hooked target. The Dismember lockdown also sets up for Techies' devastating Blast Off! into triple Proximity Mines combo. Sticky Bomb constantly slows and provides vision while latched onto an enemy hero, making it easier for Meat Hook to connect.
Tiny's Toss lets him throw an enemy hero into Techies while he stands around his Proximity Mines to do massive damage to them. Tiny's Avalanche and Toss lockdown also sets up for Techies' devastating Blast Off! into triple Proximity Mines combo. Tiny also makes great use of the movement speed boost and disarm around him when targeted by Techies' Reactive Tazer once he gets Aghanim's Shard.
Vengeful Spirit can Nether Swap a target into Techies' Proximity Mines. The Magic Missile lockdown also sets up for Techies' devastating Blast Off! into triple Proximity Mines combo. This allows the two of them to roam the map as a duo-kill squad, even as supports, with the collective lockdown and damage to snowball with kills.

Techies has an easy time latching Sticky Bomb on a slow and squishy Crystal Maiden in the laning stage to follow up with Blast Off! to set up kills on her. Later in the game, Techies can interrupt Crystal Maiden's Freezing Field every time with the Blast Off! stun, as he doesn't get interrupted by Frostbite. This lets him easily finish her off with the triple Proximity Mines as she does not have good attack speed or attack animation to destroy them.
Techies' dominant magical damage through his spells lets him bypass Enchantress' Untouchable to burst her down quickly with the Sticky Bomb, Blast Off!, and triple Proximity Mines combo because of her low HP pool. Enchantress has slow attack projectiles, which makes it difficult for her to destroy Proximity Mines before they explode. The Reactive Tazer disarm also prevents Enchantress from dishing out damage in fights through her Impetus right clicks.
Techies' immense AoE capabilities do wonders against Meepo and his clones. Reactive Tazer can disarm multiple if not all Meepo clones at the same time. Proximity Mines can be placed on top of Dig, while the plethora of AoE damage from Blast Off!, Proximity Mines, and Sticky Bomb makes it hard for Meepo to swap clones in and out of fights since they all get low on HP.
Blast Off! destroys trees and can stun Monkey King while he is perched on a tree with Tree Dance. Techies likes to hide Proximity Mines in tree lines, which can trigger when Monkey King jumps across trees to move around, giving away his position and damaging him in the process as he can't immediately attack them atop a tree.
Morphling likes to run around with low HP and high armor in order to maximize his farming efficiency - this makes him a perfect target for Techies' dominant magic damage combo as he is vulnerable to a Blast Off! from fog. Techies doesn't have any steroids for Morphling to Morph into and his low attack range makes it difficult for him to destroy Proximity Mines before they explode.
Techies has an easy time latching Sticky Bomb on a slow and squishy Muerta in the laning stage to follow up with Blast Off! to set up kills on her. Muerta has to react and target Techies extremely quickly with the Dead Shot fear to stop this initiation. Later in the game, Techies' dominant magic damage through his spells cares little about the Muerta's physical damage immunity during Pierce the Veil. The Reactive Tazer disarm is also extremely problematic for Muerta and can potentially waste most of her ultimate.
Techies' immense AoE capabilities do wonders against Naga Siren and her Mirror Image illusions, as Techies can clear them all at the same time with Sticky Bomb, Blast Off! and Proximity Mines. This hinders Naga's core strategy of split pushing and farming multiple areas with her illusions. Reactive Tazer can also disarm Naga Siren and all her illusions at the same time, keeping Techies safe even when he gets Ensnared.
Techies has an easy time latching Sticky Bomb on a slow and squishy Necrophos in the laning stage to follow up with Blast Off! to set up kills on him. Later in the game, Techies' dominant magic damage through his spells cares little about the Necrophos' physical damage immunity during Ghost Shroud, and only helps boost the burst damage of his spell combo. Necrophos also doesn't have the best attack speed or attack animation to destroy Proximity Mines.
Primal Beast cannot right click during Trample, which makes him unable to destroy Techies' Proximity Mines before they explode. This lets Techies simply place Proximity Mines around him when Primal Beast tries to Trample him down to turn the fight. Primal Beast also has to think twice before initiating onto Techies as he might trigger Proximity Mines when moving in with Onslaught.
Techies' immense AoE capabilities do wonders against Slark's main defensive tools of Shadow Dance and Depth Shroud, once he has Aghanim's Shard. Blast Off!, Proximity Mines, and Sticky Bomb can all do damage to Slark during his ultimate. Dark Pact also does not dispel Sticky Bomb and provides vision of Slark, rendering him unable to heal with Barracuda.

Abaddon's Aphotic Shield protects him and his allies by absorbing most of Techies' burst damage through his spell combo to prevent him from getting kills. Abaddon can also pop Borrowed Time, even during the Blast Off! stun, and run into Proximity Mines to not only waste them, but also heal himself back to full. The Aphotic Shield dispel also takes off the Reactive Tazer disarm, letting Abaddon destroy Proximity Mines and run at Techies with his right clicks.
Anti Mage's high magic resistance through Counterspell lets him tank and survive Techies' spell combo, and possibly Blink away before all his Proximity Mines explode to avoid getting bursted. Anti Mage can also Blink on Techies and burn his mana through Mana Break on right clicks, making him completely useless. Once Anti Mage buys Manta Style, he can dispel the Reactive Tazer disarm and easily burst down Techies with Mana Void after jumping him with Blink.
Ember Spirit can easily dodge Techies' Blast Off! and Sticky Bomb by timing his Sleight of Fist on a bunch of units. Ember Spirit can also throw Fire Remnants and jump to them during Sleight of Fist to avoid exploding Proximity Mines around him. Flame Guard also provides a magic damage barrier to absorb a lot of Techies' damage from his spells. Ember Spirit can also deal damage from range with his Sleight of Fist into Searing Chains combo to avoid running into Proximity Mines.
Juggernaut's Blade Fury provides massive magic resistance during the spin to mitigate most of Techies' high damage from Sticky Bomb, Blast Off!, and Proximity Mines. The Blade Fury debuff immunity also avoids the Blast Off! stun, while the dispel takes off the Reactive Tazer disarm. Juggernaut can also Omnislash and Swiftslash Techies during his Blast Off! jump to turn the fight. Healing Ward is also great at healing up Juggernaut and his entire team to counteract Techies' heavy AoE damage.
Lifestealer's Rage provides massive magic resistance during the spell to mitigate most of Techies' high damage from Sticky Bomb, Blast Off!, and Proximity Mines. The Rage debuff immunity also avoids the Blast Off! stun, while the dispel takes off the Reactive Tazer disarm. Rage is particularly effective at soaking multiple Proximity Mines while taking very little damage.
Mars can easily time either Spear of Mars or God's Rebuke to push Techies away during his Blast Off! jump to interrupt the spell while also putting it on cooldown. This prevents Techies from ever initiating properly and putting Proximity Mines around Mars while he has his spells available. A squishy Techies can also not jump outside Arena of Blood with Blast Off! and dies easily to Mars' spells and right clicks inside it.
Mana Shield is simply too effective against the burst combo of Techies throughout the game. Mana Shield does not take Armor or Magic Resistance into account, thus ignoring the magic resistance reduction from Proximity Mines. Gorgon's Grasp also prevents Techies from using Blast Off! by rooting Techies in place and canceling the cast point of his spell.
Fate's Edict allows Oracle and his allies to ignore most of Techies' kit altogether as it can mitigate all the damage of Sticky Bomb, Blast Off!, and Proximity Mines. Fortune's End can dispel Reactive Tazer both defensively and offensively, while False Promise is an all purpose fail safe that prevents Techies from bursting anyone on Oracle's team.
Phantom Lancer can easily time Doppelganger to dodge Sticky Bomb and Blast Off! while summoning illusions around him to tank the follow up Proximity Mines and run away with the main hero. Throughout the game, Phantom Lancer has multiple illusions at his disposal to send out and tank any Proximity Mines placed by Techies in fights or around objectives. Once Phantom Lancer buys Diffusal Blade, he can burn Techies' mana with his illusions and make him completely useless.
Reincarnation makes it hard for Techies to all in combo and kill Wraith King as he would Reincarnate back to life, while Techies would be out of gas. The Bone Guard Skeletons can also soak multiple Proximity Mines in fights, or when they run down lanes or through the jungle.
