Winter's Curse is amazing for setting up Ice Blast and Cold Feet due to it's long duration and AOE property. Arctic Burn and Ice Blast complement each other perfectly as Arctic Burn is great at getting heroes to low HP quickly, while Ice Blast is great for finishing off low HP targets.

Winters Curse can serve as a setup for Requiem of Souls.

Winters Curse and Splinter Blast are exceptionally good versus Terrorblade as you can use his illusions against him or his teammates.

Winters Curse can be used on Pangolier while he is in Rolling Thunder. Your ultimate will partially neglect his ultimate and ruin his initiation.

Tinker's Defense Matrix gives him Status Resistance and to all his teammates, which will have your Winters Curse effectiveness lowered. It is also exceptionally hard for you to catch Tinker.
